7-8 May, Advanced training workshop: ‘Technologies for historical fortifications survey and documentation’ Location: Poppi’s historical center (AR) The workshop aims to define the strategies related to the acquisition and management of data, useful for the study and knowledge of cultural property. Essential actions approaching topics related to conservation. The workshop will deal with the complex management of the large amount of data that can be achieved with current technologies. Finally all possibilities of using acquired data for the construction of models will be explained. That can be useful not only for the study of the monument, but also to spread its knowledge about among the general public. All workshops will be held in the following languages: Italian, English, Spanish 9-10 May, International conference: ‘Between east and west:transposition of cultural systems and military technology of fortified landscapes’ Location: Guidi’s Castle, Poppi (AR) The international conference “Between East and West: transposition of cultural systems and military technology of fortified landscapes” is organised in order to compare the results and the updates about the several researches made by experts from several different nationalities, about the theme of cultural routes and fortificated landscapes. The program will give a particular attention to the priorities expressed by the recent document of ICOFORT, and in particular the themes of Cultural Tourism,Training in regard to the development and review of world Heritage Site nominations, fortification Glossary of terminology, the evaluation on Fortifications and military Landscapes, the Relations Between The Conservation of fortification and processes of climate change, and also the dissemination of web information. The research projects will be organised in three thematic areas related to the ancient fortifications of medieval period and his late medieval developments, to the great Renaissance and late Renaissance fortifications, and to the modern and contemporary fortified systems. Call for papers – All the interested parties are required to send the article (using a maximum of 6,000 characters including spaces), in English language, with four images or pictures attachment (please check the resolution of the pictures which must be 300 DPJ and about 20 cm) with a short caption for each one.
