SDGs WG Brainstorming and Sharing Session – Inclusivity, Gender Equality and Indigenous People
The SDGs WG Brainstorming and Sharing Session will look at unspoken narratives, highlighting issues of inqualities, gender inclusivity and promoting rights based approaches. Larry Coben, Executive Director of the Escala, will share about Uplifting the Role of Women and Marginalized Entrepreneurs in the Heritage Practice which will provide real world issues of engaging communities on the ground and providing solutions to provide holistic empowerment of women in rural or peri-urban heritage areas. Edson Cabalfin, Associate Dean of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion from the Tulane School of Architecture will introduce the issues, dynamics, politics of LGBT spaces and heritage sites and discuss the layered complexities of such places.
This session is part of a series of discussions within the SDGs Working Group to listen to various perspectives on integrating heritage and sustainable development and create a shared base of knowledge to level off ideas, principles and align actions.
